Everyone Else is Pretending
While imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, only 65+ years of innovation can produce designs made to the exacting standards of a Jacuzzi® product. Unfortunately, not every hot tub can be a Jacuzzi® hot tub. Yet, because the Jacuzzi® brand has achieved such massive global brand awareness, people occasionally use “jacuzzi,” our brand name, to describe the product itself. This is incorrect and damages the brand we’ve built over decades. In fact, under the trademark laws of virtually every country, it is trademark infringement to use the word Jacuzzi® to name or describe a hot tub unless Jacuzzi Group is the manufacturer. Simply put, the terms “Jacuzzi®” and “hot tub” or “spa” are not interchangeable.
It is easy to remember the correct way to use the Jacuzzi® trademark. The product – a hot tub, swim spa, sauna, shower, or bathtub – is a noun, a thing. Jacuzzi®, by contrast, is an adjective, that says your hot tub, spa, or sauna is a premium original, from the company that started it all.
So, next time you find yourself referring to a Jacuzzi® product, be sure the Jacuzzi® name does not stand alone. Whether you have a Jacuzzi® hot tub, a Jacuzzi® spa, or a Jacuzzi® bathtub, call your tub like it is – and add the Jacuzzi® brand name with pride. When you refer to any hot tubs or spas that are not manufactured by Jacuzzi Group, don’t use the Jacuzzi® name. The product may not meet the high standards for which Jacuzzi® products are known. It’s not an original.
Thanks for considering something that’s understandably important to us at Jacuzzi. But it’s also important to everyone. The Jacuzzi name is how people seeking premier hydrotherapy products can distinguish them from imitators.
If you are looking for premium wellness products, buy a Jacuzzi® hot tub, spa, swim spa, sauna, shower, or bathtub. Everything else is just hot water.
