In our last blog, we discussed three hot tub options that can help you save money on your electric bill. In Part 2 below, we’ll discuss a few other factors that are also important when trying to keep maintenance costs down. While all Jacuzzi® Hot Tubs are energy efficient, meeting the California Energy Commission’s standards, these features actually help you cut costs even further and maintain the condition of your spa:

ENERGY-CONSERVING HEATER
The immersion heater in Jacuzzi® Hot Tubs is made of titanium and features an ultra-low-watt density, energy-conserving heating element. It works this way: Water passes over the heater slowly, increasing the efficient transfer of warmth to the water. This also reduces mineral build-up, keeping your water cleaner and clearer.

ULTRA-EFFICIENT LIGHTING
LED technology allows bulbs to produce more light per watt than their incandescent cousins, meaning they require less energy to illuminate your hot tub. LEDs are long-lasting and inexpensive compared to other bulbs.

HEAT-TRANSFORMING PUMPS
The programmable circulation pump in Jacuzzi® Hot Tubs not only keeps your water filtered and clean, it also transfers heat created by the motor to the water, as opposed to dispersing it or otherwise allowing that energy to go to waste. This further reduces your energy usage.

HEAT-RETAINING SURFACE
Jacuzzi® Hot Tubs feature TriFusion™ acrylic shells. These shells, layered atop one another, are very strong and limit the amount of heat that can escape from your hot tub. This makes your spa a self-contained unit, and it will retain the heat it generates as opposed to letting it leak out through a thinner exterior.

Jacuzzi® Hot Tubs are hallmarks in energy efficiency and average use will not make a tremendous impact on your electric bill. Plus, utilizing the tactics, included parts, and accessories we’ve reviewed in the past two posts will help you leave an even smaller energy footprint.
