BUYING A HOT TUB: HOT TUB INSTALLATION

Hot Tub Installation

WILL I NEED TO INSTALL PLUMBING AND ELECTRICAL FOR MY HOT TUB?

Hot Tub Installation: No special plumbing is required! Most hot tubs are portable and above-ground. Simply fill up the hot tub with your garden hose.

That said, remember to keep in mind that a hot tub filled with water is heavy. A good, solid hot tub foundation is essential for any hot tub. The area that it rests on must be able to support the weight of the hot tub, the water in it, and those who use it. If you are installing on an elevated structure, it is recommended that you consult a contractor or structural engineer to find specific hot tub requirements for decks.

Hot Tub Electrical Installation: While some Jacuzzi hot tub models can be plugged into a traditional 120VAC outlet, most models require a hard wired electrical connection to power the hot tub. For aesthetic reasons, many homeowners choose to have these lines buried underground. Talk to your dealer about your specific requirements and always be sure your electrician consults the Jacuzzi Hot Tubs Owner’s Manual for your particular model before doing any electrical work.
