Where can I find my spa serial number for the SmartTub® app?

If your spa was manufactured with a SmartTub® module installed, you will have a QR code by your control panel with the serial number. If your spa was not manufactured with a SmartTub® module, you may want to get this information from the dealer you purchased your spa from.

Does the SmartTub® app offer a free trial?

Yes. The SmartTub® app offers customers a free trial (on new installations) to explore the app and verify if it fits their needs for monitoring and controlling the spa.

How long is my free trial?

For new SmartTub® modules, a free 6-month trial is included.

How do I reset my password?

To reset your password, open the SmartTub® app. You will see "Forgot your login details" under the blue login button. Click on that feature to send a reset email to the address you used during registration.

Does the SmartTub® module offer a Wi-Fi connection?

Yes. The 4th-generation SmartTub® module offers Wi-Fi connectivity. A subscription to the SmartTub® app is still required with a Wi-Fi connection.

How do I know if my SmartTub® module is Wi-Fi enabled?

The 4th-generation SmartTub® module has a white label on the front of it, compared to previous generations that had a dark blue label.

Do you have a SmartTub® app manual?

Yes. You can request a SmartTub® app user guide by emailing support@smarttub.net

How do I log out of the SmartTub® app?

Go to the Manage icon, then scroll down to the bottom to find the Log Out button.

Do I need a data plan if I’m on Wi-Fi?

Yes. Even if the SmartTub® module is connected to your home Wi-Fi network, a subscription to the SmartTub® app is required.

SmartTub® FAQs

Can I have multiple accounts registered to my tub?

No. In the SmartTub® app, only one registered account per spa is allowed, though multiple people can log in using the same credentials.

The serial number was not found when pairing my spa.

This may occur with aftermarket installations. You can call 844-602-6066 (option 1) between 7 AM–4 PM Pacific Time, Monday–Friday, or email support@smarttub.net

I’m having trouble authorizing when pairing my spa.

This usually means another person is already registered under your spa’s serial number. Contact support@smarttub.net

I registered my spa for warranty and got the “Spa is off-line, asset already found” error.

This means your dealer has likely already registered your spa’s warranty. Simply try logging in to the SmartTub® app.

My SmartTub® shows “off-line” in the app.

Perform a power cycle and magnetic reset:

Power down your spa for two minutes at the breaker.

Power it back up.

Use a magnet over the reset area on the SmartTub® module, passing it back and forth until the lights briefly turn off and then back on.

This resets the connection between your module and the cloud server.

I can’t purchase through the SmartTub® app; I get an error at checkout.

You likely have a pending app update. Go to your device’s app store to check for updates. If none are pending, uninstall and reinstall the app before trying again.

I get an “Invalid multipass” error when purchasing.

I’m getting a 4080 or 4081 error.

These communication errors indicate low or poor cellular connectivity between your SmartTub® module and the cloud server.

How can I reset my SmartTub® module?

Perform a power cycle and magnetic reset (same process as in question 15).

How do I change my email for the SmartTub® app?

Create a new user account in the SmartTub® app, then contact support to assist in transferring your spa registration.

Which subscription plan do I need?

The regular subscription is required for access to the app. If you’ve installed optional wireless sensors, you’ll need the enhanced plan.

How much is the subscription for the app?

1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen Cellular-only devices: $36 USD per year

4th gen Cellular + Wi-Fi devices: $50 USD per year

Both plans are billed annually, with multi-year options available.

Does my subscription automatically renew?

No. You’ll be notified starting 30 days before expiration when you log in, with an option to renew through the online store.

 

How do I know when my subscription expires?

Go to the Manage tab → Account Information → scroll to view your expiration date. The app also alerts you within 30 days of expiration.
