Filtration care and management

The filtration system in your hot tub is another aspect that will need maintenance. How much time you spend on maintenance and how often you need to change the filters will depend on the brand and model. The inner filter that traps small particles should be replaced every four months. Jacuzzi® hot tubs also have up to five stages of filtration, depending on the model.

STAGES 1 and 2:

The skimmer and unique mesh ProCatch™ filter work together to clean the water surface and trap large debris for easy removal.

STAGE 3:

This exclusive system features a 60-square-foot ProClarity® filter connected directly to a ProStream™ filtration pump that filters an incredible 35 gallons of water per minute, resulting in clean water* faster.

STAGE 4:

The ProClarity® depth load filter polishes the water down to a 3-micron level.

STAGE 5:

The second 60-square-foot ProClarity® filter cleans* and activates when you are using the hot tub. This doubles the filtration when you need it the most.

Hot tub cleaning in various climates and seasons

You may need to clean and maintain your hot tub more depending on the climate and seasons. Maintenance may also depend on how often the hot tub is used. If you use your hot tub in the winter on a very regular basis, for example, you will want to make sure the water is chemically balanced and maintained.

Keep chemicals dry:

• Place them on a shelf or in an enclosed area where they won’t be exposed to the elements or vigorous hot tub splashing.

Keep them secure:

• Lock up chemicals so they are not accessible to kids or pets.

Keep chemicals in their original containers:

• While decorative storage looks lovely, transferring containers could lead to chemical mix-ups.
• Read each package’s storage and usage instructions and follow them for safety.    

Hot tub maintenance and a quality hot tub cover

A high-quality hot tub cover is your best first defense in protecting your water from debris and other disturbances that can disrupt the chemical balance. A good hot tub cover will keep debris out of the water while also shielding your hot tub from the elements, helping to maintain residual heat and even adding an extra layer of safety when your hot tub is not in use.
