Why Jacuzzi® hot tubs are energy efficient

Why is hot tub energy efficiency important?

why is hit tub energy efficiency important?

Incorporating a Jacuzzi® hot tub into your regular wellness routine can open up whole new ways of recovery and relaxation from the relentlessness of daily life, but like any luxury home appliance there is always an energy requirement to consider.

We at Jacuzzi® have incorporated energy efficiency into all aspects of our design and manufacturing processes to ensure you’re getting optimal performance without unnecessary energy wastage – a key focus of today’s world.

Our SmartTub™ app allows us to get actual real world usage data and on average, our customers use around 5kWh per day* to enjoy their Jacuzzi®️ hot tub. To put that into perspective, it is only about the same as a family of 4 taking a 10 minute shower a day.

One of Jacuzzi’s pillars for success is performance, and we have always prided ourselves on making products that don’t just provide outstanding hydromassage and health benefits, but also maximise the energy they use, delivering advanced hydrotherapy in an energy efficient way.

It’s always helpful to understand where energy is being used throughout your home and how efficient each device or appliance is. This enables you to monitor costs and help you budget easier so that there are never any surprises later down the line, allowing you to focus on the most important thing: you.

The Jacuzzi® Approach to Hot Tub Energy Efficiency

LEARN ABOUT ELECTRICAL AND PLUMBING

Superior Construction

Built to withstand extreme weather conditions, Jacuzzi’s outstanding cabinetry ensures your hot tub remains energy efficient for its full lifetime. Our ProFusion® shell is a three-layered scratch resistant acrylic, hardened for the elements and designed to help retain heat within the hot tub. Our ProCabinetry® also provides maximum heat retention, further providing energy efficiency.

Jacuzzi-smarttub

SmartTub™

Upgrading your hot tub with our SmartTub technology or having it fitted as part of your delivery – is one of the best ways of making your hot tub enjoyment as energy efficient as possible. SmartTub allows you to gain accurate, real-time data on your hot tub’s energy usage, along with water temperature, remote access and locking controls, and notifications if parts need servicing. Simply put, the power to modulate your hot tub temperature dependant on use represents a huge step up in cost reduction.

SmartTub has been proven to help hot tub owners monitor their energy usage and therefore reduce cost.

PowerPro Jets

PowerPro® Jets and Pumps

Our jets not only deliver a fantastic hydromassage to revive tired muscles and rejuvenate the body, but they are purposefully engineered to use a little energy as possible. Their streamlined design and performance reduce the overall level of energy required, saving you money in the long run. The pumps we incorporate into our designs are also highly energy efficient and transfer heat generated by the motor back into the water, providing maximum power to the jets without incurring a severe energy penalty.

Programmable Cycles

Programmable Cycles

On applicable models, our hot tubs allow for customised heating and filtration cycles. These provide the opportunity to let your hot tub do the work when required without running up excess costs relative to your level of usage. Individuals or couples who use their hot tub at a lower frequency can benefit from reduced costs through filtration and heating programmes that fit their needs, whilst larger groups can ensure their hot tub remains functional and safe to use despite more regular use.

LED Lighting

LED Lighting

The LED lights in and around our hot tubs create the perfect mood to unwind in and even offer a complete chromotherapy experience, all whilst offering unbeatable energy efficiency. Proven to last longer and cost less than equivalent bulbs, as well as produce more light overall, they mean that no wellness routine should come with additional worry about energy waste.

Jacuzzi hot tub covers

Covers

Hot tub covers are a fantastic way to keep the temperature of your hot tub consistent for less energy. Our covers are made using high density foam with a protective outer layer that insulates the water below and prevents heat from escaping upwards. If you’re using your hot tub in the winter months, a cover will help keep more heat generated by the hot tub inside the shell, meaning it won’t have to use as much energy to heat the water to your desired level. An added bonus of using a cover is that your hot tub will heat up much faster, meaning you can start sitting back and unwinding even sooner.

Insulation

Hot tub insulation is something that changes from brand to brand and comes down to the manufacturer’s choice of insulation material; at Jacuzzi® we use dense foam insulation coupled with a lighter intermediary foam to cover most of our hot tub’s equipment and plumbing. Where other manufacturers might only apply partial foam insulation to the floor or inside the cabinets, we use full-foam insulation along the floor, around the shell and within the cabinet. This allows a large amount of the heat generated from the parts and plumbing to remain in the hot tub and disperse back into the water, further heating it and reducing the energy required to maintain the set temperature.

Regardless which Jacuzzi® hot tub you choose, whether entry level or top of the range, you can be guaranteed in getting one of the most energy efficient hot tubs in the market.

Here are some common FAQs around energy efficiency and consumption with hot tubs

Jacuzzi® hot tubs are built from the ground up to use as little energy as possible and maximise that energy throughout its various functions. From construction and insulation to pumps, jets and programmes, we design and manufacture a hydromassage experience that keeps the heat where it should be and the focus firmly on you.
