Jacuzzi® J-365™ Spa Drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers for Training

According to the Nielsen Co., an estimated 111 million people tuned in to watch the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 6, 2011. I enjoyed the game plopped in front of the television on the couch with my husband, daughter and large pizza. I had no particular favorite team. I was just hoping it was a close game to retain my interest and of course I looked forward to the halftime show and commercials. Whether you rooted for the Green Bay Packers or the Pittsburgh Steelers, many of you who were watching the Super Bowl this weekend will agree it was quite an exciting game. For Doug Carlson, Authorized Jacuzzi Hot Tubs dealer located in Dallas, TX, this year’s Super Bowl was a memorable and extraordinary event. Doug was not one of the 111 million people who tuned in to watch the Super Bowl from the boob tube. He and his wife were two out of over 100,000 eager fans who watched the game live at Cowboys Stadium! Mr. Carlson cheered for the Pittsburgh Steelers while his wife sat next to him and cheered on the Green Bay Packers. The couple enjoyed mezzanine level tickets provided by Ken Fiore, Director of Player Personnel for the NFL.

Less than two weeks prior to the big game, from his Fort Worth, TX location, Ken Fiore searched “Jacuzzi” on the internet and found Dolphin Pool Supply and Service, our local Jacuzzi Hot Tubs authorized dealer. Fiore contacted Carlson with hopes to rent and temporarily install a Jacuzzi hot tub at the TCU athletic facilities, where the Pittsburgh Steelers would begin practice the following week.

Although it is not typical practice for Dolphin Pools to rent their spas, Doug gladly agreed to a week long rental of a select hot tub to help the players physically prepare for the big day. After exchanging images and details of various spa models with Fiore via email, the two agreed on the J-365 spa. “I felt the J-365 was a suitable fit for the training requirements of the players. The J-365 is a big hot tub with open seating. The players needed a spa with open spacing for warm ups and stretching. A lounger would not have been appropriate since there would be no relaxing during training” stated Carlson after the spa installation. “I installed the hot tub the day the players arrived at the training site on practice day one. The punter and kicker used the spa to warm up before practice to loosen up their muscles; it was freezing cold. Their two defensive backs recovered and stretched in the spa after practice.”

Although the Steelers did not win, they played a good game. “I’m a huge sports’ fan. My wife and I had a fantastic time at the game,” remarked Carlson. “To have our Jacuzzi spa be a part of this event was such an honor and delight.”
