October 2007 Dear Craig, On my Jacuzzi tub, does the motor have a reset button? If so where would it be located on the motor? If my motor shuts down what could be causing this behavior?Larry Dear Larry, The motors on our Jacuzzi Whirlpool Baths has a built in thermal cutoff circuit that kicks in automatically. The approximate temperature for the thermal cutoff point is 262° degrees fahrenheit. When it does kick in, the temperature must cool down by about five to ten degrees before the motor can be used again. If this is an ongoing problem, make sure you have proper ventilation to help prevent heat build up. Proper ventilation will keep the motor from automatically turning off to prevent overheating. You can also check the breaker. If the breaker keeps tripping call a certified electrician. But a defective GFCI or improperly wired outlet can or wiring problem can cause this same symptom. In either case, contact a certified electrician or an authorized service agent to investigate. |
